S/PDIF In XPS7100
I have a Samsung LCD monitor that is also a HDTV and I am wondering if I connect the s/pdif from the Samsung to the s/pdif in on my dell if the tv sound will then be output to my 4.1 speakers. I would like to know this prior to purchasing a cable.

I don't see any reference to an HDMI "Input" on your PC. There is an HDMI "output" to go to some external device that has an HDMI input, such as TV but that's all.

My Samsung TV/Monitor has s/pdif out and my computer has s/pdif in. So if I buy an optical cable and connect my s/pdif from TV to s/pdif on Dell will the sound come out of the speakers I have hooked up to PC? I am already using HDMI out to TV/Monitor.
