The A B C D lights!?!?

I can't find anything specific about what A B C D represent, the green lights on the back of my computer!!!  I feel retarded because it's going to be a simple answer, but one time, D was amber, and that's not good, but it hasn't been since... but still... I want to know what they mean!!!
