Wireless Keyboard and Mouse installation issues!
I am a tech working on a customers pc. A Dell Dimension 4000. I have found it nearly impossible to find drivers for the Wireless Keyboard and Mouse that was purchased with the PC. The Keyboards model number is RT7D40.
As I have been reading the forums, I have noticed
many unanswered posts by Dell about this issue.
Is there or is there not a driver to load these devices. Plug and Play is not an option, nor is the driver by Dells instructions, exist on the ResourceCD.

There are no drivers needed for the wireless keyboard/mouse. I have the same keyboard, and all of the keys work as they should in Windows XP. The mouse will use the basic Windows XP built in functions, there is no exteneded functionality of the mouse, which is stupid. Why put a click wheel on the mouse and then not allow us to use it? The mouse is also a KILLER on batteries. I have to change the batteries at least once a month! With my MS wireless keyboard/mouse combo, the mouse batteries last upwards of 6 months.
The DELL keyboard is good on batteries, as I have not yet had to change the batteries for the keyboard, but have already changed the mouse batteries FIVE TIMES! The light just continously blinks rapidly, which is what is killing the batteries. Resting the mouse on a light colored plain surface overnight DOES NOT seem to help, although others have stated it does.

Same wireless keyboard product, similar issue.
Although I have the buttons working on the keyboard, I wanted to configure the setup of the buttons, such as which Mail account will be opened when pressing the Mail Hotkey at the top of the keyboard. There is no configuration option in the control panel, no solution on Dell configuration CD, nor have I found any download to satisfy my needs.
Assistance please.
Dell Keyboard Model RT7D40
Thank you
