XPS 8700: adding an SSD cache drive.
I have an XPS 8700 without an SSD cache drive. I was thinking of adding one if I can just switch the settings in the Bios to RAID, and installing the Intel Rapid Storage Technology drivers and software. Some people claim it will work, most say reinstalling Windows is needed. I'm running Windows 8.1 if it matters. If anyone knows for sure if it's possible without reinstalling Windows, thanks in advance.
Before it's suggested, I have no desire to install the OS on the SSD. Thanks

HI darrin99,
You may have to reinstall the operating system as you will need to change the SATA operation to IRST technology (RAID) in the BIOS to add the mSATA cache drive.
