XPS420 memory

 Hello!

Anyone know the maximum memory volts for the XPS420 motherboard (0TP406)? Standard is 1.8v for the PC5300 memory, will it cope with PC6400 memory with 2.1v?

xps420,

The XPS 420 can use both PC5300 667MHz and PC6400 800MHz memory. But i would not mix them.

Doesnt sound like this was a real answer! I ran across the same issue.

I have 2 GB that came with Dell DDR2 6400 800mhz. But I tried to upgrade using some Kingston Hyperx (?) and then my system was reading only 667mhz for the Ram.

Now I put that new ram into a system I just built and it actually does read out at 800mhz. I think that the motherboard ( 0TP406) has different settings setup to the voltage to make you buy the DELL Memory, or you lose performance because the stuff you buy will need the higher voltage to get the speed
