Graphics Card Upgrade.
Hi Guys,
Almost three years ago i got my Dell 8200, with the best spec i could, P4 2.2ghZ processor,512mb ram, xp pro, office xp pro etc..., the Graphics card had just been released, the
nVIDIA GeForce 4 Ti 4600( now using the latest forceware driver 7.1.89).
However, i am now looking to upgrade my system.
I have ordered another 512mb of rdram,( which will be with me soon ) I also want to upgrade the graphics card to a 256mb card, and also if possible a faster processor.
So here are a few questions for all of you boffins!!
1, Can i upgrade the graphics to 256mb, and which card do you suggest if any?
2, What is the difference between agp x 4 and agp x 8?
3, Will the additional 512mb of ram make a difference?
4, Which speed of processor can i upgrade to?
5, Can i install a 'Radeon' graphics card instead of a nVIDIA one?
Cheers!!

Sounds like you are embarking on a similar upgrade project for your D8200 as I have been in the process of doing for the past six months on my D4400. A great D8200 upgrade site is: http://www.spongebobsupgradesite.com . There have been all number of postings on this Video forum and the Upgrade Hardware forum, http://forums.us.dell.com/supportforums/board?board.id=dim_upghw&page=1 on various D8200 upgrades. I would suggest that you do a review of prior forum postings using the search function, located at the bottom of the forum page, to access this voluminous amount of great information.
Good luck,:smileyhappy:
