Mouse cursor will not point directly to buttons
I am having issues with my mouse cursor. When I point to a button, or link, it most of the time has to be above or below the object to click on it. It will do this for awhile, and then all of a sudden it will activate a link or button, by placing it directly over the object, and then will return to its previous state, where by again, to select something I must strategically place the cursor under or over an object to click on it.
It has been suggested in the Windows Vista forum that this can be corrected by downloading the latest drivers for the ATI card, however not all the people with this issue have ATI video cards, and I have also updated my ATI video drivers and software and this did not fix the issue.
I have also noted that every user on the Vista Forum had a Dell computer, no other manufacturers have been mentioned.
This has been an issue since I turned on the computer from the first day, but no one has as of yet been able to find a fix for me on this issue.
I have a dell inspiron Desktop 531, but all make and models of Dell units have been mentioned, which leads me to believe that it might be some kind of registry issue, services issue, or finally the operating system. The only similarity that I have found is the Dell users are the ones mentioning this issue.
Any help, guidance or suggestions are welcome.
Thank you very much

Duh, it's a part of the Dell Community Forums and (most) everybody has a Dell computer.
And if you'd searched these forums, you'll find other potential solutions, eg:
Turn off pointer themes in Vista.

Hi there,
I had the same problem with my Inspiron 530... i found out that it's a Video card driver problem... If you have a ATI HD2600 xt Especialy!
Update drivers! go to the ATI web site to download the latest drivers AND Catalyst Controll center!!!!
