NEED NVIDIA CARD REPLACEMENT...HELP
I Currantly Have a Stock Dell Dimension 8250
512 MB RD Ram
2.4 Pentium 4 Processor
An AGP GeForce4 MX 420 64 MB Graphics Card
Hi,
I have an NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 420 64MB graphics AGP TV-OUT video card. What I want to know is what kind of card can I get to replace this one? Can I replace this card with a NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 440-8X-64MB DDR AGP8X TV DVI DVD? I have a Dell Dimension 8250 with Windows XP, service pack 3. My computer is old, but still runs great, so I do not want a card that will over-whelm it. Any help will be greatly appreciated. If you need more info. about my computer let me know.

Other users have gone as high as the Nvidia FX5950 Ultra but any AGP video card will work.

If you're on a budget, I'd suggest a Sparkle 8400GS PCI (not PCIe or AGP). It supports modern resolutions, HDCP and will accelerate HD video. It has good driver support, unlike the modern ATI GPUs available in AGP.
The MX 440 is an ancient design dating back ten years.
