Types of supported memory for Precision?
I'm looking into upgrading the memory in my Precision T3400, and i was wondering if registered memory, full-buffered memory, or both of them together is compatible with the motherboard. I know ECC is compatible because that's what i have in there now, but i'm not sure about these types. Thank you

Your T3400 is not an apple 2008 Mac Pro or a Power Edge 2900. ONLY unbuffered Ram works. ECC or Non ECC.
Registered and or Buffered Ram Is not and will not EVER be compatible. If you need an upgrade sell it and buy a Used T3500 on ebay.
The T3500 uses DDR3 1600 and holds up to 24 gigs with 6 ram slots.
The T3400 ram is very specific and no longer available at a reasonable price. If you want to use Registered Buffered ECC DDR2 Get the T3400 predicessor the Precision 490.
