what's a normal CPU usage ?
I check on my computer "Windows Task Manager" and I saw my CPU usage is around 3-5%, but once in awhile it jump to 60-70% then go back down to 3-5%. Is this normal or something wrong with it?
By the way, in the past few day, the comp keep shutting down and said:
"A problem has been detected and window has been shutting down to prevent damage to your computer
Technical Information:
***STOP: 0x0000007F (0x00000000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)
Beginning dump of physical memory: ........ "
Anyone have any idea what happen and how to fix it? Any help is appreciated. I tried to do System Restore, but the comp didn't let me do it.
No Events found!

My 1st bet would be a RAM failure.

Sounds likw its time to reload Windows.
After you waste a ton of time trying to find some hardware
problem you'll be at the point where there will not be anything left to try
and you'll be reloading the OS.
SO...... do it first. and save a bunch of time.
Reload the OS if the problem continues do the diagonstics and when you call Dell
it will make the phone call much much easier.

I try to run the Memory Diagnostic, but can't get the computer to boot from the CD. When I tried to open the file on the CD myself, the Roxie easy CD creator come up ...don't know what to do with it :-(

If you saved the image file to make a CD, you have to open EZ-CD Creator,
Click File,
Click Record Cd from Image,
Change the Files Type from CIF to: ISO Image File .ISO
Browse to where you saved windiag.iso & Highlight it
Click OPEN
Click Start Recording
In about a minute this will create a bootable CD which you can use to run diags on your RAM.
Once CD is complete, reboot to you BIOS< set CD-ROM as 1st Boot Device & reboot to the diagnostic.
or You can redownload MTinst.exe & open it again & select the option to create a bootable Floppy diskette if your system has a floppy drive.

After I highlight "windiag.iso" and click OPEN, got this message:
This drive is in use by another Application 'Roxio DirectCD Kernel'. Easy CD Creator cannot use it until the application has completed.
