DX 6.2 very strange behaviour
Hi Guys,
anyone had the following problems.
I installed a DX6.2 into a clustered fileserver, and has the following problem.
1. Folder renaming/deleting is not possible, when a user create a "New Folder" then it is impossible to rename or delete it. Workaround failover to the other node.
2. DX service crash, user see the purged files 0kb size, and can not retrieve it from archive.
Workaround restart DX service in cluster manager.
Currently I can not connect the errors to one node, but I am on it.
Any ide, I have support cases on booth problem, before you as it.

What kind of media do you use? When a media wit retention is used you cannot rename folders, files etc. even when those files arent protected with retention. You can override this behavior with an option "Disable folder rename check" on the Options tab of the
Extended Drive Properties.
Please look at page 33 of Administrator Guide. You will find detailed information.
kind regards,
Michal

Media is Centera, so folder rename is not a problem, I set this option. The support is working on it. We will see.

Support suggested patch2 and a hotfix, they pointed out that customer has a lot of very long (more than 255 chars) paths.

It seems in our case the problem is a memory leak in DX, and fix coming in SP4.
Not Kaspersky I am sure. It is Symantec.
If you check the forum topic you will realize that other peoples have this problem too.
