In short, I am trying to find out exactly where (what models) the transition happened from halacpi.dll to halaacpi.dll/halmacpi.dll? I believe the D600 and GX260 were the last halacpi models. I am just looking for some confirmation...

For quite a few years now, at several companies, I have used the same process for managing our images when it comes to HALs. Build all images on a halacpi.dll. When deploying the image, check the model and as long as it is a newer model, change the HAL to the halaacpi.dll. Windows will automatically change it from "Uni" to "Multi" if necessary. All of my scripts have used the logic that the Latitude D600 or older and the Optiplex GX260 and older should be left alone, and anything newer should have the HAL updated. We are FINALLY at a point where I can safely say that we do not have to support the D600s or the GX260s anymore. I can also say that we do not have to support the D610s anymore. However, I cannot yet say the same for the GX270 or GX280. I really want to get rid of the HAL switching all together. Based on all of my information, I believe I can safely do that. As long as we are not imaging anything older than the D610 or the GX270, I believe that I can safely build the image on the halaacpi.dll and not touch it during the image deployment process...

Can anyone help me out here. Can anyone say for sure what the last models were that required the older HAL?
