Manual Transfer Utility Tips

Question

I am working on a project to move some vmware datastores from Canada to Australia. The datastores are on our PS4100x and will land on another PS at the other end. We're up around 12TB that needs moving.

The manual transfer utility sounds great, but in looking into it I'm worried about a possible requirement. When creating the initial replica to start the manual transfer the GUI requires the destination partner. What if I am unable to provide this considering my scenario?

Is it possible to 'fake it' by choosing a different partner, create the manual replica, then attempt to import it on the relevant partner?

Hi Donald,

I have a similar issue as James, and was wondering if I could use a local storage group partner to set up the initial manual transfer to an external NAS device and then when the the remote site is up, I could change the replication partner?

If this is not possible, can you recommend a way to do this please.

We are currently building a DR site, but have 14TB of data to transfer, I was hoping to find a way to start the transfer to the external NAS earlier to save a lot of time
