VMware EQL Replica Failover Query

Question

Hi,Hoping someone with a bit more experience in this area can point me in the right direction :)We currently have a single vcentre/vsphere setup, with two EQL groups hanging off it. One group the primary storage, one is the secondary storage which wereplicate the primary to. I have been playing with HIT for VMware and was looking at how we would automate (as much as possible) promoting the replicas, andgetting the VMs back online.I can see this is partially possible using ASM, but it only really seems to cater for two seperate vcentre setups, what I really want is the ability to just bring theVMs back on our existing vcentre, but using the replicas on the secondary storage without having to manually register each one. Any pointers appriciated!ThanksP

Hi Don, Thanks, the thing is I don't really want full SRM type functionality. The VMware setup itself will be the same, its just really to enable some form of failover between the arrays Thanks, Paul

Thanks, I have a somewhat working solution, using two HIT installs, and using the failback clone feature, which doesnt what I want.

The only problem I am currently having is the cloned/restored VMs don't have any DVswitch ports assigned to them, basically the networking is blank, any idea if thats a dell or vmware thing?
