VSM 3.5 - Deleting Datastores

Hello-

We are a VMware shop - 5.0u2 with 20 hosts.  I'm trying to find out the best way to delete EQ volumes.  I've muddled through it and usually get an email alert from EQ.  Once I sent a host into APD, which was a nightmare.

I've read various articles - most from VMware, such as http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&docTypeID=DT_KB_1_1&externalId=2004605.

These are tedious - esp with this many hosts.

What I'm wondering is if the VSM can handle the delete as well as the creation of volumes.  That is what makes VSM so handy - volume creation.  So what about deletes?

If not, then what is the best way to do this from an EQ perspective.  I've seen posts on this forum that are not nearly as thorough as the VMware article, which leads me to believe that the methods are a little rough.

Thoughts?

Dan

So to clarify....

If I have an empty datastore in VMware, all I need to to is delete it with the VSM?  VSM will reach out to VMware, do its magic, and then delete the volume in EQ?

Cool.  I will test and advise if there are issues.
