Compellent SC040 Controllers List SAS cards with Unknown Purpose.

We have been experiencing an issue with latency with our SC040 Controllers recently.  On the Compellent Manager, 2 of the cards on both of the Controllers show up now being grayed out and are listed with a Purpose of "Unknown".   Has anyone had this issue pop up before?

We are running an old version of the software, v 5.5.6
