I have a Dell MD3000i that i'm trying to connect to 2 esx 4.0 host. When I try to configure the host access I get the following error; "Error 57 - The operation cannot complete because the indentifier or name you provided already exists. Please provide another identifier or name and then try the operation"
I've try a different name with no avail..... Please help
I run into this at times when an add goes wrong andf I try again.
So what is listed uner Edit Host Topology? maybe posta screen shot if possible? With is tree'd out?
"I am seeing this issue on the MD3200i w/ up-to-date firmware. I see it constantly. There are no hosts with any info that matches the host I'm trying to add. This appears to be a bug in the Dell firmware. Anybody have any further info? I'll likely be calling up support on this later today."
On the 3000i it's always just been the descriptor name I am giving it causing it. I just put a number at the end and it clears. It doesn't seem to like to re-use those names ever that's for sure.
