No san based san to san replication is the bane of the MD (powervault) line.
Datcore, Falconstor, and Reldata will do it between two MD iSCSI SANs using HBA's at the block level.
Microsoft Storage server will do it file level if your will to doll out storage to your hosts as NAS instead of iSCSI. Pretty sure you would still have us the HBA's.
We have encountered issues hooking two MD iSCSI units up to one host via software iSCSI initiators. The HBA eliminate the issue but you have to use out of band management only at that point.
