Blinking orange power light
Inspiron 5676
Ok, so when I try to turn my PC on it doesn't start up and the power light blinks orange. It blinks 6 times, and from my research online apparently, it means 'a power supply or system board failure has occurred.' So I have just replaced the power supply and it has not fixed the problem.
This problem doesn't occur everytime I try and start the PC. But it does happen the majority of times that I try to start.
So now we know it is not a power supply problem, what is a board failure problem? And how do I go about fixing it?
Does it mean a new CPU??
FInally, strange how this happens 2 months after my warranty expires?!?!?
Many thanks for any help offered
TIA

As mentioned above, 6 blinks is a video card problem. So carefully reseat the video card in its slot. Then reset BIOS to clear the error code. Close case and make sure the video cable is correctly connected to the PC and to the monitor. See if PC boots properly now with a known-working monitor.
If it still won't boot, check the PSU diagnostics LED on back of PC. Then follow the instructions to run the BIST on the PSU, following the instructions for PCs with a PSU test button.
Assuming PSU passes the BIST, you could swap in a known-working PCI-e x16 video card, that requires a PSU no bigger than 460 W, to see if that solves the problem.
