Cannot open Inspiron 24 from sleep

Inspiron 24 3455

Once it reverts to sleep neither keyboard, mouse, or power switch will reawaken computer. I need to remove power and reinstall to get power switch to reboot.

No need to remove power on a frozen laptop or a desktop. Just press and hold down the power button until it shuts down. Pulling the power from a desktop can cause problems.

For starters open Power Options and go to Additional power settings. Check what the settings are now.  Right click on the Start button to get to Power Options. You have to dig down to find all the settings. MS makes it harder than necessary.

Check and change your Power Plan settings.

Reboot and immediately start tapping F2 to open BIOS setup. Use arrow and tab keys to browse around to look for an option to "USB wake support" (or similar option). If that option is available, make sure it's enabled. Don't change anything else in BIOS setup, but save the change to USB wake support, if any.

Either way, then go into Device Manager and expand the list under USB. For every USB entry that has a Power Management tab, make sure the box "Allow PC to turn off..." is not checked on that tab.  Now repeat the same thing for every Human Interface Device entry in Device Manager that as a Power Management tab.

Reboot when done and see if that helps.
