Caps Lock Indicator

I have a Inspiron 5400 24" all-in-one. It does not have a caps lock indicator on the keyboard and I do not see an indicator in Windows 11. The only thing I have been able to find is an assistance tone.

Any way to see a display indicator in Windows?

Do you have the latest build of Win 11?

Lots of complaints and seems that this is a bug in earlier builds of Win 11.

Try enabling the tone for cap lock, and then look the Ease of Access screen for an option to display an alert when a tone is played...

@beaufortsc,

Is it one of their wireless keyboards?  Does it at least have the little dots and the lock icons for Num Lock, Cap Lock and Scroll Lock above the numeric keypad area?  If you press Num Lock or Cap Lock, does it light up for a few seconds and then go out?

On the wireless keyboard, the lights automatically turn back off after 5 seconds.  Supposedly to prevent using the battery too much.  I think it's silly.  Those tiny LED lights pull so little power that it wouldn't really make any noticeable difference.  The radio sending to the usb fob has to pull more power than those itty bitty LEDs do.

I don't know of any indicator for Win 11.  How would that even work?

There's a way to turn on a status line indicator in Word, but that's all I know of.

This worked thx. The wireless keyed does not have a led for anything.

caps lock indicator should be set to default from the factory.

@beaufortsc  - Glad the work-around worked for you!

Don't know why everything is so "user unfriendly" these days...
