Dell splash screen pops up arbitrarily
While working on my 5 year old Inspiron desktop, the Dell splash screen (the startup one, NOT the support assist one) pops up for a few seconds, then vanishes and whatever I was working on reappears. Not damaging, but annoying. Happens no matter what I'm doing and follows no pattern that I can ascertain. Just started happening in the last couple of weeks. Anyone else have this problem?

Always include exact PC model and version of Windows in your posts.
When was last time you replaced the motherboard battery?

Sorry for the omission, Ron, I'm new to this board.
My pc is an Inspiron 3650, running Windows 10, v. 1909.
And, I've NEVER replaced the battery. I'll look for it and replace it. Thanks.

@lancejay - No problem. We need to know that info because different PC models and versions of Windows may need different fixes.
The Service Manual gives instructions on replacing the motherboard battery, starting on page 50. It's a 3-volt CR2032 lithium ion coin cell battery, ~$2. If the battery hasn't been changed for a long time, then that's frequently the first place to start and, if nothing else, you rule the battery out for just a few dollars.
Here's what I'd do:
Let us know if that solves the problem or...

Haven't had a chance to work on it yet, family emergency. Will post when I try it.
