Desktop froze, updating firmware, do not power off

Help what should I do? My computer is not working. It has been more than 12 hours with my computer screen with the message “Updating your Firmware. Do not power down your system” Flash Progress (with 0% progress). Should I unplug the power? Thanks in advance for your help.

If you are facing issues with the update stuck on 0 or 1%, please perform a hard reset:

  1. Make sure your computer is turned off.
  2. If you have a laptop, unplug it from the AC adapter and take out the battery. If the battery can't be removed, just unplug the cable (this step is crucial so don't skip it, if you don't know how to remove or disconnect the battery cable, please check your product manual for instructions).
  3. Hold down the power button for 20 to 30 seconds to completely drain any leftover power.
  4. Plug in the AC adapter and, if applicable, put the battery back in.
  5. Turn on your computer.

You may also use the "Get Help Now" option at the bottom right to chat with a Dell technician right away.

@cristinasantosu  Always include exact PC model in your posts.

You have no choice at this point. Force power the PC off by pressing/holding the power button until it shuts down. Wait a bit and then power on and see what happens...

How were you running the BIOS update, manually in Windows (what version), using SupportAssist in Windows, or some other way?
