Inspiron 20-3052, Admin Password at bootup

I purchased this out of warranty (3/3/17) Dell Inspiron 20-3052 series at an auction. When I power it up it asks for an admin password? It seems it needs a Dell Password. I don't have service for this computer, can anyone suggest how I can get past this step? I can't access boot options or windows until this password is entered.

Thanks

Anthony

Welcome to the Dell Community  @AnthonyWS

Clearing Forgotten Passwords:

Prerequisites:

1 Remove the stand.

2 Follow the procedure from step 1 to step 2 in “Removing the optical drive”.

3 Remove the back cover.

4 Remove the system-board shield.

Procedure:

1 Locate the password reset jumper (PSWD) on the system board. NOTE: For more information on the location of CMOS and password reset jumper, see “System-board components”.

2 Remove the jumper plug from the default jumper-pins and connect it to the password jumper-pins.

3 Wait for 5 seconds and then replace the jumper plug in its original location.

If you're talking about the BIOS setup password, read page 84 in the Service Manual.

If you're talking about a Windows password, your only option will be to wipe the hard drive and do a clean install of Windows. Dell supports this system with Win 10, so you can download the latest Win 10 ISO file for free from Microsoft and create a bootable USB stick to do the clean install followed by the drivers for Win 10 from Dell's site.

@U2CAMEB4ME - Isn't that exactly what I told the OP when I said to read page 84 in the Inspiron 3052 Service Manual?
