Inspiron 24-5477 AIO, HDMI in no sound
I connected a DVD/Blu-ray player to the Inspiron 24-5477 AIO HDMI in port. The image comes great, but there is no sound. I tried to check all configurations but cannot find a way to get any sound. I saw a similar post here from March 2019. But I see no clear solution. Anyone could please help? The computer is less than 3 months old.

Can you verify the model number? Inspiron 5447 comes back as a laptop, not an AIO.

Thank you for the note. That was a typo, the computer is an Inspiron 24-5477 AIO.

The Dell documentation does not detail whether its only video or video and audio.
One thing to try, if you don't have "Stereo MIx" set as default Recording device, set that and see if it allows audio in.

I set the Stereo Mix, but still no work. A weird thing: my Blu-ray/DVD player has an app for youtube. If I play videos on youtube using the player connected with HDMI to the computer, I get a perfect image AND sound. Still, from discs, be it a DVD or Blu-ray, no audio is heard.
I also tried connecting a tablet through the HDMI and got the same results. Good image, no audio.

The Setup and Specifications PDF states =
Display Built-in Self Test button/Input-source selection button
This button has two functions:
When the computer is on, use this button to select the video input-source.
Press the button to switch the display between the internal system display and HDMI input.
Note, it never actually mentions audio.
Testing =
Did you connect headphones to the left side Headset port to see if you could hear the DVD?
Did you connect powered external speakers to the rear Audio-out port to see if you could hear the DVD
