Inspiron 3650, processor upgrade
Hello, I was wondering if I can possibly upgrade my processor, and perhaps my motherboard. As listed below, I have a i5 processor, and I want to upgrade it to a i7 processor. I am having difficulties finding out which processors are compatible with my mother board.
Socket: FCLGA1151
Processor: Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-6400 CPU @ 2.70GHz, 2712 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 4 Logical Processor(s)
Mainboard: Dell Inc. 0C2XKD A01
Graphcis card: Intel(R) HD Graphics 530

Lots of threads posted on this exact topic, so search for them. Here's one to get you started.
If you change the motherboard, you'll have to be sure it fits into the 3650 case and that it has the same front panel wiring connections as the original, or be able to modify...
And a new motherboard requires a new Microsoft license for Windows because the copy you have is tied to your 3650 motherboard.
