Inspiron 5680, memory question

Hi All,

Seems to be some misinformation  on the amount of UDIMM slots available on this Desktop. The Service Manual PDF show two slots where when configuring a machine it clearly states four UDIMM slots with memory capability of up to 64GB. Can someone from Dell Please clarify this? Greatly appreciated!

The internal training page shows what Jesse posted "64GB" which matches the Setup and Specifications PDF, "Total memory 8GB, 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB". The Sales site only shows 32GB but that may just be what we are "offering". The the Setup and Specifications PDF is correct in showing that the motherboard has four UDIMM slots. The Service Manual is incorrect.

Thanks! I wanted to be sure there were 4 DiMM slots on the MB and capability of 64GB of RAM.

US site shows 32GB maximum memory.

Apparently the 64GB maximum in the manual is a mistake. It does have 4 dimm slots though.

Looks like there might be two versions of this board, depending upon which variant of the Inspiron 5680 you buy. The models that include the DVD drive can support 64GB of RAM and also include USB-C. The less expensive models do not support USB-C (missing on this motherboard) and may only support 32GB of RAM (2 slots).

The picture comes from the Inspiron Gaming Desktop Service Manual :

Regulatory Model: D27M
Regulatory Type: D27M002
