Reinstalling Drivers

Hi. I have a Inspiron 560 and I reset it because it had some problems. I accidentally reset it COMPLETELY and now it doesn’t have the proper drivers. Normally I just reset the files and programs and I just reinstall the necessary programs from internet explorer. It loads windows and goes to the set up screen where I choose the language etc, but my keyboards and mouses don’t work in the usb slots. I was told this was because of my reset and they told me to reinstall my drivers on a flash drive and install it from there. Unfortunately, I cannot find which drivers I’m suppose to download. I searched stuff like  “all drivers for Inspiron 560” and “drivers for reset Inspiron 560s. But it just gives lists of drivers and I don’t know which I need. Can someone please give a link and tell me which drivers I need to download.

Drivers are not a pancea.

Windows is not a single OS.

What version of windows?

32 or 64 bit?

USB devices should work without needing drivers thats basic so there is something else going on.

560 tower has some drivers that are not the same as 560S small Desktop.

Not sure by what you mean by reset windows.

Hi. For some clarification: my computer is the stock Inspiron 560 not the Inspiron 560s and runs 64bit windows, the second most recent update(I was planning to update it on the day I ran into problems). What originally happened was that I accidentally removed a graphics driver that I did not want to. So I used a restore point that I made 5 days prior. However, when I tried to open a game, I got a message saying that there was a problem with my graphics driver so I thought that the restore point didn’t work. At that point I decided to just reset my computer completely. I held shift and restarted my pc which brought me to the boot menu. I went to the reset pc option>remove everything>local reinstall>(asked how I would want to reinstall windows)>wipe drive. Afterwards, my pc began to reset and I left it on overnight because it was taking a long time. In the morning I went to my pc and found that my keyboard and mouse wasn’t working. I unplugged and plugged them, shut down my pc and turned it on with the power button and unplugged and plugged in my keyboard and mouse while it was off. I tried with another keyboard and also with the original keyboard and mouse the pc came with no avail. My normal keyboard is the Huntsman Mini and my mouse is the Logitech G502 Hero.

When I turn on my pc and my monitor slightly lights up, my keyboard and mouse rgbs light up, but as soon as the windows loading screen appears, they power off. This applies to all my keyboards and mouses.

Usb not working indicates physical problem with hard drive , ram , powersupply , etc

Reset of windows DOES NOT FIX physical hardware issues.

64 BIT windows 10 WILL INSTALL but due to the age of this model ALL the legacy drivers won't install from windows update.

There are ZERO windows 10 drivers for this model and windows 10 is not supported that does not mean its not working fine.

I would recommend making a current windows 10 USB 2.0 Flash Drive to install windows 10 21H1.

You will need to say you don't have a key or use Generic Home or PRO key to install.

Again 64 bit windows is too Generic.

HOME or PRO ?

If you get back online within 180 days windows will be reactivated automatically.

Working flash drives are not expensive but they are often faked meaning they dont work so you should buy retail.

You should do this soon because they will become hard to find after a while.

The Drivers not Native to windows are the

Chipset,  Audio,  Intel Video,  Radeon VIDEO etc.

Sata operation should be set to AHCI not INTEL RST or IRRT

New working hard drive is also not expensive.

In the Device Manager dialog box, click the Action menu, then click Scan for hardware changes.

You may get a message asking you to install Windows driver software for your unknown device. If you receive this message, locate the driver software and click Install.

You may also receive a message stating that a hardware device is being installed and that the uninstalled device is now in Device Manager.

If you do not receive the message or the hardware device is not installed, go to Windows Update to find a device driver.
