Second monitor Dell Inspiron 24 Model 5477

I have an All-in-One Dell Inspiron 24 Model 5477 and am trying to use a second monitor with it, but am not having much luck. I haven't made any changes to the PC - it still has its factory specs.

I purchased a Dell 2412M monitor without realizing that my computer has, for outputs, only HDMI, I believe, while the monitor has VGA, DVI-D, and DisplayPort inputs. I bought a DVI-D to HDMI adapter, so I am able to connect the monitor to my PC (using the correct Output HDMI input on my PC) and it seems as if the monitor can recognize that it is connected to something - the message on the monitor changes when I connect it via an HDMI cable + adapter - but my computer doesn't recognize / detect it, and I'm unable to get it to work.

Based on this page from Intel (the chart near the bottom) and my PC's device manager, which lists my Display Adapter as Intel UHD Graphics 630, it doesn't appear I can connect a second monitor using DVI or HDMI. (The Intel Graphics Control Panel lists my Connector Type (I assume for Monitor 1, the monitor built into my PC) as HDMI.)

I'm not sure if the "Display 2 Configuration" in the chart is indicating the output I'm using from my PC (which, as I said, the only output I have is an HDMI output) or is based on the input from the other monitor (which is VGA, DVI, or DisplayPort). I hate to buy another adapter - HDMI-->DisplayPort, most likely, if it isn't going to work.

Can anyone give me some guidance, either if there's some step in the process that I'm missing when connecting the monitor, how to read the chart, or if the monitor should work with an HDMI --> DisplayPort cable?

Thanks in advance.
