Which processor families support Intel® Turbo Boost Technology?

  • Intel® Core™ i7 Mobile and Desktop Processors
  • Intel® Core™ i5 Mobile and Desktop Processors

Unfortunately i3 does not support Turbo Boost.

Does my motherboard support Intel® Turbo Boost Technology?

Intel Turbo Boost Technology is a processor technology. Make sure you have an Intel Turbo Boost Technology-supported processor. Desktop board vendors normally enable Intel Turbo Boost Technology by default. You can typically enable or disable through a switch in the desktop board BIOS.

Looks like spec of Inspiron 20 3048 does not mention i5 or i7, but the chipset is H81 which supports i5 and i7.

Intel Turbo Boost Technology is enabled by default on supported processors. You can disable or enable the technology with a switch in the BIOS. No other user-controllable settings to change Intel Turbo Boost Technology operation are available. Once enabled, Intel Turbo Boost Technology works automatically under operating system control.

I have a Pentium in my system. If I upgrade to a Turbo Boost CPU, turbo boost will automatically be enabled in my BIOS?
