8 beeps looping all the time when computer is turned on
Hello,
I have a 15z 5523 15.6 Dell laptop, I disconnected the lcd from my laptop, and I am using it with external screen, I also disconnected the speaker from the inside, I am connecting it to external speaker, it keeps beeping 8 times (lcd connector problem) in loops.
I understand something is wrong with the lcd since I disconnected it (thank you Dell) how can I stop it from beeping? I cannot use the speaker because its beeping all the time, I tired the D+power on button but it doesnt work for some reason, what can I do?
thank you!

No one will give you that answer. There are two other options:
1. Disconnect the speaker from the system, or
2. Decompile, rewrite and recompile the system firmware.
There is no option to disable the POST warning of an unrecognized screen.

Hello,
Eight beeps mean Display / LCD failure no need to run the bist in this case you could replace the LCD but for a system that is 11 years old that is going to cost you more then a newer one i'm afraid the end of your 5523 has come ....

The only way to stop it from beeping is to attach a working, recognized display panel.

I had this same problem (8 beeps) and ordered a replacement motherboard thinking the GPU or VRAM have failed. When the new motherboard was connected, same 8 beeps. After a quick Google search, one suggestion was to unplug and plug the LCD cable from the LCD screen (not motherboard) side. It wasn't loose and never been removed. Was astonished when it booted ok, both with new and old motherboard!
