Accessing advanced bios settings

It's what you see, is what you get -- there's nothing unlockable.  If you're looking for a system where you can configure memory timing, overclocking, etc. these do exist -- but the system you've purchased does not have this support.  

@ejn63​ Thanks for the quick reply. This is really disappointing if true. I have an Inspiron 7501 from 2020 and did a side by side comparison. The 7501 has advanced options in the bios, with a toggle for them in the top left. For the 7640 to not have this seems like a real step backwards. It's bad enough that the 7640 seems to benchmark worse than a 10th gen intel... but that's a topic for another discussion.

you actually can dont listen to them follow these instructions 

-Download Dell Command Configure and install it

-Once installed, run the wizard shortcut it created on the desktop

-Lookup for Configuration -> AdvancedMode, doubleclick on "Not Specified" until the drop down menu appears and set it to "Enabled", the checkbox should also be checked on automatically

-Click on "Export .EXE" at the bottom right, press OK and select "Encryption without passphrase".

-Save the files where you want, desktop is fine, it will create a folder with 2 .exe and a 2 .sh files.

-Run the exe that ends with _x64 and wait a bit. It will create a log file and after around 20 seconds, check the log and make sure there's a "SUCCESS" near the end

-Restart your system and go into the BIOS (F2). All the Advanced options should now display.

The tool is used for business line laptops so it will say not compatible but it actually is. I used it on inspiron 7640 and worked 

“The option AdvanceMode’ is not available or cannot be configured through this tool”  That’s the message given when attempted. Thou it shows SUCCESS, but that only means it ran as requested yet failed to accomplish the request.
