Adapter problem on n5110
I have a Dell Inspiron N5110. Recently my laptop has been given me errors about plugging in the right adapter, my adapter was 90w but it get broken so i bought new dell original adapter of 65w it was working fine then suddenly The following error that occurs whenever I plug in the charger is:
The AC power adapter type cannot be determined.
Your system will operate slower and battery will not charge. This problem might be solved by:
- Ensure the plug is inserted completely for best system operation
- Connect a Dell 90W adapter or higher.
I have tried it connecting the 130w and 90w adapter but still it shows the same and cannot able to charge my laptop. I have diagnosed with each adapter and the adapter status shows ‘UNKNOWN’ can anyone please tell me what is the issue why it can’t able to charge my laptop?

It likely means the DC input jack is bad, but this part isn't separately replaceable. Whether the required mainboard replacement is worth the cost is up to you -- a replacement system will likely cost the same, or even less.

It may be worth trying. While it stands a good chance of solving the problem, if it doesn't, the remaining cause is a faulty charge circuit -- for which the only solution is a replacement mainboard.
Also note that complete and working N5110s are sold for $30-50 on EBay.
