Adding/replacing an SSD to my G3 3590
Hello. I bought the Dell g3 3590 laptop a couple years back. It came with 2x 4gb ram sticks, Nvidia 1660ti with max-Q and 500gb SSD & the other slot for an additional drive is left empty (I believe its meant for a 2.5" drive??)... I bought a "SAMSUNG 970 EVO Plus SSD 1TB, M.2 NVMe Interface Internal Solid State Hard Drive with V-NAND Technology for Gaming, Graphic Design, MZ-V7S1T0B/AM" https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07MFZY2F2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 to use in the EMPTY slot. But unfortunately, I don't think it will fit in that drive slot
Also, I'm even wondering if it will even be able to replace the current 500gb SSD that came with the laptop. I read somewhere that it will only be compatible with 500GB drives or smaller in that slot.
Please, someone tell me I'm wrong!

The 1 TB SSD will be fine. Dell only specs the drives that they have tested and not all the drives that are compatible. From the specs on the support page and I have highlighted the line that pertains to your situation:
Your computer is shipped with one of the following configurations:
● One M.2 card (solid-state drive or Intel Optane Memory H10 with solid-state storage)
● One 2.5-inch hard drive
● One M.2 card (solid-state drive or Intel Optane Memory H10 with solid-state storage) and one 2.5-inch hard drive
NOTE: The solid-state drive or the Intel Optane Memory H10 with solid-state storage is the primary drive.
● One 2.5-inch hard drive and one M.2 card (Intel Optane Memory M15)
NOTE: The 2.5-inch hard drive is the primary drive.
