Battery isnt charging
- I have an Inspiron 13 5378. It only runs on charge and the battery itself doesn't charge. So when taken off charge it instantly turns off. It also runs very slowly even on charge. The battery was replaced a month ago and it had been working fine until this problem started. I used another charger to test if it would work to no avail.

Verify AC adapter functionality
Charge the battery in BIOS mode or with the laptop turned off
Run the Dell hardware diagnostic test
Check the battery health status
Update the BIOS and Dell Quickset
Run Windows Troubleshooter for battery issues
Uninstall and reinstall Microsoft ACPI Battery driver

Is it a genuine Dell battery? Users often have problems when using non-Dell replacement batteries, as many are poor quality. There are many counterfeit batteries with Dell logos, so buy from a reputable source such as Dell or Parts-People.

It is definitely a genuine battery. A friend of mine has the same laptop with the same battery as the one I got. He hasn't changed the battery since he bought the laptop
