battery problem inpiron 5558

Hello

I have problem with battery. The battery level drops very quickly until the laptop turns off (5min), but when turned on again, the indicator shows 7% and holds for so long (last 3h). Windows battery diagnostic shows very small capacity, BIOS too. I tried to calibrate the battery, enter the bios and wait for the discharge and then charge it to 100%, but it did nothing. Can i do something else with it?

You need to replace the battery. Batteries can fail after 1-2 years. Get a genuine Dell battery from Dell or an approved Parts company. Beware of scams on the internet from private sellers. There are many of them on Amazon or Ebay. See if this is still available from Dell spare parts and verify it is compatible with your computer-

If you can't find a battery try removing the battery and use the adapter alone.

Today's Lithium batteries should not be "recalibrated."

Welcome to the Dell Community,

Sounds like you have tried everything that can be.

If its the original battery, 4-5 years is pretty good???

Time to replace it with an OEM battery.
