From F12 at powerup, boot to the Dell diagnostics and run an extended test on the hard drive.   You'll likely find it fails - in which case, it's time to replace the drive with a new one, and then reload everything.

Mine keeps saying preparing automatic repair then going to black screen. I’ve done all troubleshoot tests multiple times and it says that everything passes the tests. Idk what else to do to get my laptop to work again.

Hi Scoopo99,

Thanks for posting.  Apologies that your system is not performing as expected.

From the description posted, it sounds as if there may be an Operating System error.  Here is information from the Dell knowledge base you may find helpful:

Dell PC does not turn on or boot into Windows

If you still require assistance and the system is under warranty, you may contact me privately. Be sure to include your personal information (name, address, telephone, email) and your computer's service tag number in your message. Thanks.

If there is no warranty, then you could contact our Out of Warranty team to get a quote for a paid service request.

Hi

I have trouble go to advanced startup, I have try several times , it is always go to preparing automatic repair then black screen

The following is not working for me And my PC only show Dell logo but not window logo:

Turn on your PC.

As soon as the Window logo appears on your screen, press the power button. (This will immediately interrupt the boot sequence.)

Repeat steps 1 and 2 two more times.,After the third interruption, Windows 10 will open into the Advanced Startup environment, and then you can continue with the steps below to use the Startup Repair tool to fix booting issues with Windows 10.

Anybody trying to answer this question: please pay attention to what is happening. The computer *only* boots up to “preparing automatic repair”, briefly, before it changes to an endless black screen. There is *no* option for “advanced repair environment”. Stop trying to tell us to wait for something that never happens. If you don’t know what you’re talking about just accept that fact and stop offering useless advice!
