Blank screen during Bios and windows

Question

I have purchased dell laptop Inspiron 5558 5 years back. Recently, out of the blue the bios settings was completely blank and the system is automatically boots into the OS. As my laptop is dual boot, naturally the laptop boots to ubuntu and I can see the screen after the Ubuntu starts to boot. So, I connected an external monitor and booted into windows now something wierd happens! The laptop starts to give this 6 beeps and the laptop display does not turn on. In windows I have checked whether the graphic driver detect my display, negetive. But my display works in ubuntu fine. I also checked for any driver update issue but none!

Either there is an issue with the main board or something in the LCD assembly has gone sideways. If you get a signal with a known good external, I would say they need to get the system board and the LCD assembly both to be sure. When I worked at Dell we called this the 'Kitchen Sink' resolution, as fixing it piecemeal lead to more call backs and lower customer satisfaction. I suspect things have changed since my days there.

If you have updated the BIOS and are now receiving a black screen, please follow the instructions below to resolve the issue. Press and hold the Power button for 10 seconds or until you hear the computer shut completely off. Press and hold the Alt and F10 keys while you power the system back on. Release the keys when the Acer logo appears to enter Recovery mode. Select Troubleshoot. Click See more recovery options and choose Startup Settings. Click Restart. Select option 4. Enable Safe Mode. Once the system boots to safe mode, uninstall the video driver. Press the Windows (   ) key + X. Select Device Manager. Click Display adapters. Right click on your video driver, then click uninstall.

The problem persists. I have previously done that but nothing has changed. My question is Linux is able to boot properly without any display problem however, windows is not able to boot unless an external monitor is connected. If there is a hardware issue then it should be consistent with both OS. On the contrary, Ubuntu is working hassle-free. On Windows, I have done everything possible I could like updating/uninstalling the display driver.
