Bluetooth Gone

I have an Inspiron 5493 just a few weeks old.  Microsoft updated Windows 10 Home last evening and my Bluetooth mouse quit working.  Going into Bluetooth settings I see that the button to turn it off/on no longer exists even and I cannot pair the mouse.

So I checked the Bluetooth Troubleshooter which informs me that I have no Bluetooth adapter.  Hmm...

So I did uninstall all but one of the Windows updates but no help.  The last update is a security update which will not allow itself to be uninstalled.

Finally I uninstalled the QCA9377 Bluetooth driver and reinstalled the driver downloaded from Dell this morning.  It installed with no complaints, but Windows still says the computer still has no Bluetooth  adapter.

Any idea how to resolve this problem?  Thanks.

P.S. One other anomaly exists which I have no idea if it's related or not.  In the Device Manager it shows an "Unknown USB Device".  I've tried to update it, but Win says it's already at the current level.  I also tried deleting and reinstalling it.  Also have tried turning power off for a minute or two before rebooting with no change.

QCA9377 has been haunted with this issue for long

easiest fix, Disconnect power cable and hold the power button down for 30 seconds

power it on again and Bluetooth will be back

Disconnect power cable and hold the power button down for 30 seconds while it is powered ON?

Thanks.

I have an Inspiron 5493 that I upgraded to Windows 11 and the bluetooth adapter stopped working and was not listed in device manager. This solution worked for me. Thank you

Simple and this fixed mine. Thank you.

Prior, I tried to load the driver again, and a 'cold reboot' button. Both did nothing.

Have you been able to resolve the bluetooth issue? Thank you.

Yes, my Bluetooth seems to work now, but I can't confidently explain why.  I did several things which may or may not have been the factor.  Most notably I replaced the Bluetooth/wi-fi card in the computer with an Intel one that I bought on eBay for a few bucks.  At that point I also deleted all Bluetooth drivers and anything related to Bluetooth from the device manager, and reloaded it with lots of reboots scattered through the process.  And Bluetooth has worked since.

I had a moment of panic after the most recent Microsoft update when my Bluetooth died again, but it revived after a couple of full reboots and some messing about replacing the mouse with an RF mouse (which worked) and then back to Bluetooth again after another reboot.

Good luck...

Dell Inspiration 17 3000
As delivered by Dell with Win 10
Using (or trying to use) a Dell BT mouse
BT gets turned off again and again -
I see alot of posts on this but this time I can't get it back on -
I've turned off all the power saving options I can find -
I made sure the services are running -
rebooted & reset to an earlier date when BT was on -
I don't want to use the single usb port for an adapter -
Is there anything I could have missed?
With so many people having this issue why doesn't
Dell offer some fixes?

Similar issue on Dell Desktop XPS8930 and while using my mouse lost BT connectivity. This has happened several times over the past 2 years. The solution for me was to shutdown, and disconnect the power cable wait a minute or so and reboot and viola BT back . I can only assume that the only way to clear the BT adapter is detected and drivers for it properly loaded is to disconnect power and reboot. Hope this works for you. I know how frustrating his can be. Good luck

I ignored a suggestion early on to unplug, shut down and let it sit a few hours before starting up again.  Seemed like there was no real hardware or software related reason to do so.  But.  It Worked!   Give it a shot.
