Browsers Slow After Dell Update

I have and Inspiron 5567 running Windows 10 with 12 G of memory.  I installed "critical" updates from Dell yesterday.  Now none of my browsers function properly.  They are so slow as to be unusable.  I have deleted all cookies, tried reloading the browser (Opera and Chrome) and nothing seems to make a difference.  I have also done scans for spyware and have two security suites running on the machine.  It is extremely frustrating as without a working browser, it is almost a useless machine.  I am writing this on a much older HP that still seems to work.  Any suggestions?

Thanks.  I do use task manager to find out what is causing the problem, but nothing was obvious.  It appears to be all in the browser.  It potentially could be the security suites, although Webroot tends to run in the background based on activity.  I reinstalled the browser and restarted the computer, and things appear to be on track for now.  Thank you for taking the time to respond to my question.

I suspect both security suites are scanning computer at the same time which causing browsers to be near impossible to use. Please disable one of the security suites temporary to see if it will make any difference. Also, when the computer is running slow or clashing a lot, use the Processes tab to identify which programs are consuming more memory, disk and network in real time.
