Can I add a second SSD hard disk?
Hi everyone,
I have a DELL Inspiron 15 5584 that at the moment is mounting 2 hard disk:
1) An SSD disk of 118 GB
2) A SATA disk of 931 GB
Since the SSD disk is pretty little for the use that I have to do with it I was thinking to replace the second SATA disk with another SSD disk. Is it possibile to do this or is only possible to replace the first SSD disk with another bigger SSD disk?
I prefear to have two SSD disk because it is the computer that I use for work and I don't want to reinstall all the system and a lot of software.

Yes you can upgrade to a larger SSD.

You MAY be able to replace the hard drive with a full size SSD, but a 1TB drive is large and I don't understand what the issue is? Your pretty much stuck with the SSD/Intel Optane memory.
The SSD is for the OS and programs. The 1TB hard drive is for user data, that includes program data files such as MSWord, Excel, etc and other user data such as photos, downloads, etc. If you use it that way you should have lots of storage space.
Looking at the Dell service manual the hard drive is screwed to a holder then installed in the space allocated. On some you would need some type of adapter for the full size SSD to mount in that holder. On other models the full size SSD will mount without the hard drive holder. I have an Inspiron 15 5577 model and was able to install a full size SSD without the holder. Only thing I can tell you, if you still want to do it, is get the SSD from a seller with a liberal return policy and try it.
