Chongqing Fugui Electronics

I've just upgraded a new wifi 6 router, and it shows my Dells, including laptop & desktop, are Chongqing Fugui Electronics devices. I test the older Dells, back to 2010 and 2011, it shows Intel Corporate.

What's problem? Current Dells devices are 100% manufactured by Chongqing Fugui Electronics in China? If so, my next laptop would be Chongqing Fugui or a Chinese maker with the same configuration but the price is much lower.

Sounds more likely it's the manufacturer of the network chip (wifi or ethernet) in the system.

They're not a notebook manufacturer -- but any notebook other than Samsung or LG was ultimately designed either in Taiwan or China, and most likely assembled in China -- of parts largely made in China.  Doesn't matter if the Apple, Dell, HP, etc. label is on the outside - all notebooks other than Samsung or LG (which make most of their own) and a few Lenovos that are assembled in North Carolina are made by contractors.

Have more questions or any other unresolved issue with your Dell system? Use the "Get Help Now" option at the bottom right to chat with a Dell technician right away.

Dell tries very hard to hide anything about this company. Yet they use a lot of CHONGQING FUGUI wifi cards in their laptops. Dell needs to be more open about whose components they are using, and what policies they have on those companies. What will happen if USA sanctions CHONGQING FUGUI like they did with Huawei? How will we comply? will we have to tear out those wifi cards?

Consumers with existing devices would not be affected any more than they were with Huawei devices --  the sanctions apply at a much higher level (5G infrastructure).  It IS true that you can no longer buy Huawei devices in the US -- but that has much more to do with the sanctions blocking Google, Intel, AMD, etc. from supplying components to Huawei -- not with the end user devices themselves.
