Converting Internal Hard Drive to External

I've finally managed to permanently brick my 2015 3543 Inspiron Laptop with an I'll fated cup of black coffee causing a dead motherboard.

Can I get a recommendation for what HDD Caddie to buy that is compatible with a Dell internal head drive? I see the prices on Internal HDD conversion to USB caddies has dropped significantly.

I'm a fan of Orico enclosures, and assuming the laptop hard drive in that system is the standard 9.5mm thickness or thinner, this enclosure should do the job.  Installing drives is quick and easy with no tools required, and it supports USB 3.0 including UASP.  There's even a USB-C variant, although I personally would go with the USB-A "regular USB" version and get a USB-A to USB-C dongle if you need one, since there are no official USB-C to USB-A adapters.  Don't worry about the note that it only supports drives up to 2TB.  That's a legacy note because some enclosures allowed supporting disks larger than 2TB on Windows XP by altering the drive's reported sector size.  It worked, but it also meant the drive could only be read while installed in an enclosure that played those games, so it definitely wasn't ideal.  So for practical purposes, this enclosure will only be limited to 2TB if you're trying to use it with Windows XP since that OS only supports the MBR partition layout.  But if you're using it with a newer OS and have a larger disk, you would just use the GPT partition layout, and then you can use whatever size you want, again as long as the physical thickness of the drive is not greater than the standard 9.5mm.
