Dark shadow on the right

i’ve had this laptop for quite a couple years however a while back I noticed there was a dark shadow in the right corner of the screen. It first appeared when my sister was carrying the laptop around school. It didn’t bother me much as I could still see everything just fine however I now intend to fix/ find out what is causing the issue. Could anyone give any advice on how to fix it on a link to a YouTube video showing how to fix it?

Welcome to the Dell Community  @ChaseTopaz

To better assist you, the members and I would need the exact model number of your laptop/desktop???

  1. Identify your Dell:

https://www.dell.com/support/contents/us/en/04/category/product-support/self-support-knowledgebase/locate-service-tag?dgc=SM&cid=226210&lid=spr2429124398&linkId=69606563

  1. Go into your BIOS.

Power-on the system and start tapping the F2 key to enter System Setup.

  1. In Windows:

Hold down the” Windows “key and tap the “R “key.

Then type msinfo32 and hit enter.

Best regards,

U2

The first thing to do is run a screen diagnostic -- hold the D key down through powerup.  It will initiate a series of self-tests of the screen.  If these show the same fault, the panel is damaged and will need to be replaced.

If not, the cause is external to the screen -- could be the display drivers, display cable, etc.
