Dell 3147 ACPI BIOS ERROR upon windows 10 installation

Hello. I recently tried upgrading my windows 8.1 laptop to windows 10 but when it booted up, it gave me the blue screen of death saying ACPI BIOS ERROR. When I upgraded from windows 8.1 to windows 10, I didn't have all the drivers installed, so I had to install it from a flash drive. When I start the computer, it gets caught in this endless error loop. Advanced startup options will not run, safe-mode won't run, and when I try to do an offline reset, the problem still persists. I CANNOT ACCESS THE DESKTOP so I have to use a bootable usb. I tried running the UEFI Firmware update but my access is denied. Please help. Thanks!1-min.jpg2-min.jpg3-min.jpg

You should not pre install drivers and not install from a flash drive. Get any windows 10 drivers needed after the installation.  Wrong or bad drivers cause that error.

Check the Dell Drivers page for updates afer the install--https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-us/product-support/product/inspiron-11-3147

Even if I do a full offline reset through advanced startup options without using the flash drive, the error still gets thrown.

I hope you solved your problem by now but if you haven't, some of us had success by reverting back to bios A05.

Search google for "Inspiron 3147 bios A05" for example.  Do the same for the rest, skipping A09 and possibly A12.

Downgrade to A05, update to windows 10, then upgrade the bios back to newer levels.  I personally stopped at A10 with no issues.

It seems A12 is the update that is causing the problem but no word from Dell on fixing it.
