Dell 7577 High CPU Usage from Nvidia Drivers
Hey everyone, I recently purchased a Dell 7577, with the i5 7300hq and GTX 1060. When gaming in Grand Theft Auto V, the CPU usage pretty consistently hits 100 percent when driving around, which is odd since my similarly spec'd 5577 with the same processor and GTX 1050 doesn't seem to do this. This increase in CPU usage is the difference between an occasional drop to 50 or so FPS on the 5577, to more frequent dips to 45 or so FPS on the more powerful 7577.
I'm thinking the Nvidia drivers have something to do with this, since on a clean Windows install, when I installed the latest Dell drivers for the 1060, after about 15 minutes of gaming, my monitoring software would trip up and stop receiving data from the GPU. Trying to open any of the Nvidia software would freeze everything up, with the Nvidia processes using 30 or 40 percent of my CPU resources, even after closing out of any games. After replacing those drivers with the latest from Nvidia's website that issue is at least resolved, but with how odd these drivers were behaving I was curious if anyone had a remedy for a smooth 60FPS.
