Dell g15 5511 external display

Hey, I have a doubt, I have a dell g15 5511(3050 ti version) and I want to buy an external display. I have seen many post where people said that their external display is using dedicated gpu and not the discrete gpu, also they said that they were getting just 60hz using display port. I use my laptop for gaming so hz are the reason that I want to buy a monitor, I want to know if im gonna be able to get the best performace and hz with the monitor. Thanks

The system with the 3050 GPU has no Thunderbolt port, so expect the Intel GPU to run the displayport connection, not the nVidia -- which in turn will limit your external video performance and refresh.

It may be possible to use the nVidia 3060 GPU to run the external Thunderbolt monitor, but that's only on systems that come with the higher-end GPU.

The 3050 is a relatively weak GPU for driving a high refresh external monitor (even the 3060 would be challenged doing so).

I have noticed that if i connect a second monitor to the HDMI port on the G15 5511 it limits both screens to using the onboard Intel Card. Is that correct, I would like to be able to use the 3060 in my system and not the Intel.

Please advise if this can be done or not.

I also think i found a way around the issue by going into the bios and disabling the hybrid video mode. Doing this seem to turn the Intel chip off and run everything through the NVIDIA GPU , it does sacrifice battery life if that is a concern.

I have DELL G15 5511 RTX 3060, I tried to use external monitor with the thunderbolt 4 but it doesn't work, I tried so many cables but didn't fix it. Should I use the visiontek (expensive) cable or a certified cable with DP or Dock will work on it ?
