Dell G15 5530
Dell G15 5530
Hi there,
I got recently Dell G15 5530, with the basic configuration. That was the only one available, by the time made the order.
As Expected the Laptop came with terrible screen 45% NTSC (typical) 120 Hz. Washed colors, etc.
My question will be, is there compatible LCD replacements on the market? for example, which of the older models LCD's would fit this laptop model? As at the moment, I can not find upgrade LCD from none of the known suppliers.
p.s.
I am posting under Alienware category, as I can not find Dell G laptop dedicated section.

Try using an ICC profile for your specific display.
It should improve the color calibration.
Check your exact diaplay model with HWiNFO64 (or similar).
There is probably a profile for you in notebookcheck.net.

Thanks for the fast response,
I was actually looking for a advise of compatible LCD screens replacement models, as on a junk screen like the one I have, color calibration will do not much help.
btw I did all possible color calibrations, and the result is paretic.

Even if there is a screen you can use, bear in mind you'll void the system warranty by replacing the screen.
The other issue is that the price point of the system is going to involve component compromises.
Bottom line: if you're not happy with the screen, return the system and order a system that has a better screen (that may involve stretching the budget to an XPS or an Alienware system).
The only other practical option is an external monitor.
The G-series are Inspirons and should be discussed in that forum.

thanks for the advice, I am aware of all angles, at this moment returning is not an option. will see how it works for the next few days, and probably will go in to the bin ...
it is not a budget issue at all, just non acceptable to sell junk screens with gaming laptops (even low budget ones) they can cut of any other components, but not screen, the laptop is useless.
thanks to all for advices.
