Dell G7 Black Screen/infinite “getting windows ready”

I have a Dell G7 7588 laptop on Windows 10 and lately it’s been having a lot of issues. Most recently, after I log in I get a black screen with only a cursor appearing. From there I can do a safe restart, but every time I try that I get stuck in the “Getting windows ready, don’t turn off your computer” screen. One time I waited over three hours and it didn’t change. Any advice on how to fix this? Thank you!
