Dell G7 extremely slow, BSOD
Hi guys,
Around 2 months ago I bought Dell G7, i7-8750H CPU, 16 GB RAM, GTX 1060 6GB, 128 SDD + 1000GB HDD.
I just finished moving from my old MacBook to this PC, and I love some if its features - rendering speed, game quality, etc. But many times my new Dell is just too slow to do anything. e.g. using Adobe Illustrator and Autodesk Fusion 360 at the same time slows my machine so much that even the mouse cursor is moving at the speed around 1 fps. I tried running driver updates, anti-malware and anti-virus check, Dell provided diagnostics. Everything is checking out fine. And it is still slowing down.
Also, once a week I have a BSOD: kmode exception not handled, failed tsmbco10x64.sys. Seems it might be something with my drivers.
What else can I do to keep working with this new Dell?

From Dell Technical Support =
This system supports a feature called “Hybrid Power”. This means that when the system total power requirement is more than the capacity of the AC adapter, the system will start consuming the battery power without sacrificing the performance. This explains the fact that running the game on battery exhibits a lag in performance. With this design, you may also sometimes encounter a drain in the battery charge, when the system is running certain applications such as 3D games. This usually may put both discrete graphics and processor in heavy loading status. This Hybrid Power mode is a standard feature as per the communication we have and is considered to be working as designed.

Yeah I bought it two months back and it's extremely slow! I'm an architect and this is good for nothing. Can one of you respond to these problems please?

Mine is also slow. I have 16GB Ram. I don't know what causes the slow down. Reached out to dell support and they asked me to factory Reset and did some updates, upgraded Bios. It worked well for 2 days and then the problem persists. Everything is slow. When Type something in text editor, I can see there is a lag. At this point I am considering to return the laptop.
